60 Trees
For 60 Years
Celebrating 60 years of singing with a goal of planting 60 trees
The Arlington Chorale will be partnering with EcoAction Arlington for our 2026-27 season, Dream With Us. EcoAction Arlington educates, advocates, and acts to create a sustainable community by improving our natural environment, encouraging environmentally-friendly behaviors, ensuring environmental justice, and addressing the climate crisis.
A major project of this partnership is to activate and inspire our community to plant 60 trees this year in The Arlington Chorale’s name! Anyone can be a part of this special anniversary project, no matter your location. There are easy ways for everyone to contribute: by planting a tree on your property, gifting a tree to a friend or family member, engaging your property manager or HOA to plant trees, or supporting efforts to plant trees at your place of worship.
Below you’ll find some resources that apply to Arlington and the surrounding communities. (Surprise—Many communities, including Arlington, have free tree planting programs!) The key here is that you somehow tie The Arlington Chorale in with your efforts: if it’s through a local tree planting program, mention our group to the organization you are working with. If you’re doing this on your own, document it with your best creative photos. Either way, send a picture of you/your family next to your tree to us at info@arlingtonchorale.org, and we’ll feature it in this space, and on social media. If you post it yourself, tag us in as collaborators and use the hashtag #TAC60TREES. We encourage you to pick a tree native to Virginia. We’ve listed some resources that list native trees that will do well in various settings below.

Community Service Opportunity
Another aspect of our partnership with EcoAction Arlington will be community service events, currently planned for Saturday, November 7th at 10 AM (rain date on Sunday, November 8th), with a second date forecasted for the spring. At these events, Chorale members will participate in a project to promote tree planting in a South Arlington neighborhood, raising awareness about the benefits of trees and encouraging people to sign up for the Arlington County Tree Planting Program. Volunteers will install neighborhood signs and distribute flyers.
